Internet sources report that several well-known smartphone developers are preparing to bring to the commercial market devices that support ultra-fast 125 W wired charging.
We are talking about OPPO, Realme and OnePlus. They are said to have slated an announcement of 125-watt smartphones in the second half of this year. Obviously, these will be premium models belonging to the upper price segment.
It should be noted that Realme has already demonstrated a 125W UltraDart system. It allows you to recharge a 4000 mAh battery by a third in just three minutes, and it takes about 20 minutes to fully replenish the energy reserve.
Reportedly, the 125-watt charging in commercial devices OPPO, Realme and OnePlus will be backward compatible with VOOC, Dart, Warp, SuperVOOC, SuperVOOC 2.0 and SuperDart technologies. The supply voltage can vary from 100 to 240 V.
Most likely, the upcoming smartphones will also receive support for fast wireless charging, but information on this matter has not yet been disclosed, unfortunately.
Gartner estimates that 1.35 billion smart cell phones were shipped worldwide in 2020. The fall compared to 2019 amid the pandemic was 12.5%.
