OPPO Reno2: Smart Ocean Shark

The current generation of phones are often called the same, but to come up with something original at a time when the screen covers almost the entire area of the front panel, agree, not easy. remains
just fantasize with your back, but OPPO designers still found a way to add Reno2 models to the highlight.

The kit includes a wired headset, a VOOC charger, a USB-C cable, a wired headset, a set of instructions, and a plastic case. To the last I have a question, because it is opaque,
stylized to the skin, but thus hides all the beauty of the smartphone.

And look is something – the back wall has a very interesting color palette, which, unfortunately, the photo can not fully convey. The name “Deep Ocean” is fully reflective
reality. The blue color turns to dark green and, indeed, resembles what can be seen on the shore of the great water. In addition, the Reno2 rear wall is almost smooth – lenses
The four cameras do not protrude above the surface, and to prevent the glass from scratching, there is a small bulge on which the smartphone rests when placed on a solid surface.

Do you remember the legendary Ericsson R310 protected phone with an antenna called the shark fin? That apparatus could not be confused with any other. And here, in front of me is OPPO Reno2,
which reminded me exactly that unit.

The sliding front camera received an extremely interesting design that not only allowed not to make cutouts on the screen, but also added gadget personality.

The Reno2 model screen is an AMOLED matrix with perfect viewing angles, a large margin of brightness and excellent sensor sensitivity. And most importantly – no cutouts.

Hardware platform – Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, Adreno 618 graphics and 8GB of RAM. Not a top-end platform, but more than enough for any task.

A very nice touch screen fingerprint sensor – its performance is already quite comparable to the traditional rear.

Now about the cameras – they are in the model, as mentioned, four: standard (48 megapixels), “TV” (13 megapixels), wide-angle (8 megapixels) and some “monobjects” with a matrix of 2 megapixels. The last camera is the most mysterious
and is used in portrait mode 06. I’ll tell you about the impressions of the main three.

The main module is equipped with a Sony IMX586 matrix and uses pixel combining technology. This means that by default, the smartphone will take snapshots with a resolution of 12 megapixels and to take frames with
48MP resolution, this mode must be activated in the menu (every time the shooting program is opened).

The result is quite good, but with a strong approximation, a noticeable “plasticine” of the picture caused by noise-canceling and compression algorithms Jpeg. An absolutely great result Reno2 shows when shooting
Video – With optical and digital stabilizer, it feels like shooting on a professional camera.

The work of the white balance machine deserves special praise. At dusk the camera allows to shoot and under certain conditions the result obtained can be considered as good.

But if you compare the night shots obtained with Reno2 and the RX17 Pro model we wrote about, the comparison will not be in favor of the novelty.

The wide-angle camera in the afternoon also demonstrates a result that is commendable in terms of ability and color. Of the minuses I note the chromatic aberrations at the edges of the frame and

It’s impossible to understand how a hybrid 5x zoom works. All current smartphones use a huge amount of processing, bonding, etc., etc. Anyway, 12-megapixel frames come out
not bad in geometry (which is logical for such a focal length), but the sharpness of the frames is noticeably lower than when shooting in standard mode.

In active mode, OPPO Reno2 worked for me almost a day – enough to survive before charging. By the way, it’s fast here – VOOC 3.0. This allows less than an hour to complete
charge your smartphone.

Reno2 – a smartphone with its personality based on a very comfortable colorOS shell, a beautiful screen, good cameras, and attractive appearance.
