Microsoft and Square Enix have officially confirmed that Outriders will be free-to-play for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on consoles on April 1st. But the project will not be in the Xbox Game Pass catalog for PC yet.
Outriders takes place in the distant future. Humanity tried to colonize the planet Enoch, which was very well suited to the requirements and could become a new home. However, a mysterious storm, called Anomaly, spoiled the technique, gave people supernatural powers, and turned the flora and fauna into monsters. So, instead of colonization, chaos reigned on the planet, where people wage a war among themselves for survival.
In the game, you take the role of a pioneer who woke up from cryosleep 30 years after the first landing on the planet. Like the others, you too have received supernatural abilities to be used in the fight against enemies on the way to the source of the mysterious signal.
Outriders supports up to three players co-op, as well as cross-platform multiplayer. This means you can team up with gamers on PC and PlayStation consoles.
Outriders will launch on April 1 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X & S, and PlayStation 5.
