The Swedish holding company Embracer Group, within the framework of the presentation timed to the publication of the next financial report, mentioned plans to acquire new development studios.
We will remind, yesterday it became known about 13 organizations joining Embracer Group at once, including 11 video game studios. Among them were Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior series) and Snapshot Games (Phoenix Point).
As it turned out from the aforementioned presentation, the Embracer Group is not going to stop there. Moreover, over the last quarter, the company has approached over a hundred developers with a merger proposal.
“Over the past three months, we have negotiated with over a hundred businesses to join the Embracer family, including a dozen large organizations that have the potential to create new operational units.”, – says the presentation of the Embracer Group.
As a result of the acquisition of the 13 mentioned companies, Embracer Group has 214 intellectual property, 58 internal and 56 external development studios at its disposal.
As for the games created by the Embracer Group teams, the teams are currently working on 154 projects – 56 of them have already been announced, and the remaining 98 have not yet been presented to the public.
Earlier this year, the Swedish holding acquired three more notable studios for its needs: Vertigo Games (Arizona Sunshine), 4A Games (Metro) and Saber Interactive (World War Z, Spintires: MudRunner).
