At the disposal of Internet sources was a slide containing information on the release schedule for new Qualcomm Snapdragon processors for smartphones, including those with support for fifth generation mobile communications (5G).
It is reported, in particular, that in the next quarter, the Snapdragon 662 and Snapdragon 460 chips, designed for mid-range devices, will enter the market. These products were officially presented back in January, but there are no commercial devices on them yet.
For the first quarter of 2021, the announcement of the flagship Snapdragon 875G processor with an integrated 5G modem is planned. The chip is credited with having eight computing cores in the “1 + 3 + 4” configuration. In particular, there will be one “super-core” Cortex-X1. Graphics processing will be handled by the Adreno 660 accelerator.
In addition, the Snapdragon 435G processor is slated for the first quarter of next year. Finally, in the first-second quarter of 2021, the Snapdragon 735G solution is expected to debut.
It is difficult to say how much the information released is true. Qualcomm, of course, does not confirm the authenticity of the presented slide.
