Resident Evil Village will be released on Steam entirely in Russian

Along with the information about pre-ordering on the page of the upcoming horror Resident Evil Village on the Steam service, data on the translations available in the game into various languages also appeared.

Contrary to the trend established over the past decade, the Steam version of the upcoming Capcom horror movie will receive full Russian localization – not only the text will be adapted, but also the sound.

In addition to Russian, eight more languages will receive their own dubbing in Resident Evil Village, including Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. In the latest games in the series, no more than seven versions were awarded full localization.

The mention of Russian dubbing was first spotted in files leaked to the Web due to a hacker attack on Capcom. Then this information passed by most of the media, but now it has received confirmation.

Whether dubbing will appear in the console versions of Resident Evil Village is not specified at this stage, but the fact is remarkable in itself: the last time the heroes of the series spoke Russian in the disc edition of Resident Evil 5 for PC.

The news of the full localization of Resident Evil Village is especially in contrast to the recent news that Hitman 3 – another major release of the first half of 2021 – will not be translated into Russian at all.

The release of Resident Evil Village is scheduled for May 7 this year for PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Currently, an exclusive demo is available on PS5, and the game will receive a multi-platform in the spring.
