Xiaomi, as promised, today unveiled the Redmi K40 smartphone, a powerful device that uses the Qualcomm platform and the Android 11 operating system with MIUI 12.5 proprietary add-on.
The novelty was one of the first devices on the Snapdragon 870 processor. The chip contains eight Kryo 585 cores with a clock speed of up to 3.2 GHz, an Adreno 650 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X55 5G cellular modem.
The smartphone is equipped with a high-quality display E4 AMOLED FHD + format with a diagonal of 6.67 inches. This panel has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch layer response rate of 360 Hz, which will certainly be appreciated by game lovers.
In the center at the top of the screen is a tiny hole – just 2.76 mm in diameter – that houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera is equipped with a 48-megapixel main module, an 8-megapixel unit with wide-angle optics and a 5-megapixel macromodule.
The arsenal of new items – a wireless adapter Wi-Fi 6, an NFC controller and an infrared transceiver. Power is provided by a 4500 mAh battery with support for fast 33-watt charging. Moisture protection according to the IP53 standard is mentioned.
Xiaomi will offer the following versions of the Redmi K40:
- 6 GB of RAM and a flash module with a capacity of 128 GB – $ 310;
- 8 GB of RAM and a flash module with a capacity of 128 GB – $ 340;
- 8 GB of RAM and a flash module with a capacity of 256 GB – $ 390;
- 12 GB of RAM and a flash module with a capacity of 256 GB – $ 420.
