Two weeks ago, a t0st enthusiast figured out how to shorten download times in the PC version of GTA Online. The user examined the game code and found several problems. The first was about optimization, and the second was about a 10 MB JSON file. The enthusiast has fixed the bugs, so the download time has been reduced by 70%. And now it became known that Rockstar Games decided to use the modder’s method to improve the PC version of GTA Online.
PC Gamer has received a comment from developers regarding the t0st find. It says: “After careful research, we can confirm that the user [под псевдонимом] t0st did find an aspect of the game code related to load times in the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved. In their message, the developers did not say exactly when the aforementioned patch for the PC version of GTA Online will be released. They also did not confirm that the tweaks would reduce load times by 70%, as in the modder’s experiment. It will be possible to find out how effective the improvements will be only after the release of the update and comparison tests.
