Ryzen 4000 processors (Renoir) are able to work without a cooling system at all


The recently released AMD AMD Ryzen 4000 series (Renoir) hybrid processors may well do without a cooling system. This was found out by the enthusiast of Fritzchens Fitz while trying to capture the processor heat using a thermal imager.

In his experiment, the enthusiast used the younger four-core processor Ryzen 3 4300U in the “naked” form, that is, without any cooling system, even passive. In this form, it was possible not only to successfully launch the system, but also to conduct a series of tests within 10 minutes.

The processor was able to maintain stability even in fairly “heavy” tests. He successfully passed the synthetic benchmarks Cinebench R15 and 3DMark Time Spy, as well as the test game Crysis. Of course, the test results were very modest, because in order to avoid overheating, the processor reset the frequencies. But the very fact that such a powerful processor can work without any cooling is impressive.

Also, images obtained with a thermal imager show that the Ryzen 3 4300U uses only one of the two CCX units, in which four Zen 2 cores are located.
