Just a couple of days ago, the South Korean company Samsung presented its first M.2 NVMe drive 980 Pro with support for the PCI-Express 4.0 interface. The characteristics of the novelty are really impressive. However, the first does not mean the best. Sabrent decided to prove it once again by announcing its secret weapon – the Rocket 4 Plus series of NVMe drives, which outperforms the SSD from the South Korean competitor in the same format.
Sabrent has updated its popular Rocket NVMe 4.0 SSD series with Rocket 4 Plus models, ready to offer faster read and write speeds. The series is represented by models with a memory capacity of 500 GB, as well as 1 and 2 TB.
The sequential read speed of the new models of Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus M.2 drives reaches the same 7000 MB / s as Samsung’s drives. However, the maximum write speed can reach 6,850 MB / s (Samsung has “only” 5,000 MB / s), making them the fastest M.2 SSDs in the world.
Sabrent drives built with TLC NAND memory chips use the new Phison E18 memory controller. New items come complete with a massive aluminum cooling radiator equipped with thermal pads, as well as three closed heat-conducting pipes.
Unfortunately, Sabrent has not yet announced the pricing of its Rocket 4 Plus drives.
