One of the leading suppliers of Radeon graphics cards, Sapphire is preparing to expand its flagship series of NITRO graphics accelerators. The manufacturer’s lineup of video cards should soon be replenished with the Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + version. reports the company posted an enticing poster on Twitter.
As the resource indicates VideoCardz, AMD has so far allowed its partners to release non-standard models of the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT models only. The question of the flagship solution in the form of the Radeon RX 6900 XT is still open. It is assumed that the older model will remain exclusive for AMD itself for some time, so you should not expect non-standard versions of this graphics accelerator in the near future.
As for the model Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO +, it seems to retain the characteristic design features of this series. The card is made in black and uses a massive cooling system with three fans. We have already seen a similar performance, for example, in the Radeon RX 5700XT NITRO + and Radeon RX Vega 64 NITRO + models. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet announced any additional details about the new product. However, the published image speaks about at least one detail – the central fan of the video card rotates in the direction opposite to the side “turntables”.
According to VideoCardz, the bulk of the announcements and the start of sales of non-reference variants of the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT should take place towards the end of this month. In turn, AMD’s reference graphics cards will go on sale from November 18th. According to resource sources, offers from AMD partners will appear on store shelves in about a week after that.
Recall that the Radeon RX 6800 XT is built around a Navi 21 XT GPU with 4608 stream processors, 72 real-time Ray Accelerators, 288 texture units, and 128 raster units. The graphics card is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 16 GHz, as well as 128 MB of fast Infinity Cache, thanks to which the main memory stack bandwidth exceeds 512 GB / s.
The declared recommended price of the Radeon RX 6800 XT is $ 649. The model is positioned as a direct competitor to the GeForce RTX 3080 with 10 GB of video memory. The Sapphire Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO + variant is likely to cost more and be able to offer higher performance relative to the reference version through overclocking.
