Sapphire unveils Radeon RX 6700 XT in NITRO + and PULSE editions

Sapphire has introduced two proprietary versions of the Radeon RX 6700 XT in NITRO + and PULSE versions. The older NITRO + is equipped with a massive cooling system with three fans and looks almost identical to the previously presented Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6900 XT of the NITRO + series.

In turn, the video card Radeon RX 6700 XT PULSE stands out for its compactness. The card is equipped with a cooling system with two fans instead of three, as in the older Radeon RX 6800 XT PULSE and RX 6900 XT PULSE.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT in the NITRO + and PULSE versions received one 8- and one 6-pin additional power connectors, which is the benchmark for the Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Each new product is equipped with a full-length reinforcing back plate. The difference between the plates lies in the design, as well as in the presence of the NITRO + version with RGB backlighting.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not name the frequency characteristics of the new products. This information can be found on the day of the release of both video cards, namely March 18.

It is curious that some Chinese enthusiasts have already received the Radeon RX 6700 XT NITRO + at their disposal and have carried out the first measurements of its performance. One of the forum users Bilibili shared its performance indicators in the comprehensive 3DMark test.

On average, the Radeon RX 6700 XT NITRO + was 52% slower than the Radeon RX 6800 XT NITRO +. But this is not surprising, given that the latter has 80% more stream processors – 4608 against 2560 for the younger model.

The leak also contains other interesting information. The card was tested in the Chinese synthetic test Ludashi, according to which the Radeon RX 6700 XT NITRO + based on GPU Navi 22 is codenamed Nashira Summit. Thus, the previously leaked names Nashira Point, Nashira Summit and Nashira Creek represent alternative names for Navi 2X graphics chips, and are not codenames for AMD GPUs based on the RDNA 3 architecture, as stated in early rumors.

According to the informant, in general, the Radeon RX 6700 XT NITRO + in games with DirectX 11 support is 5% faster than the GeForce RTX 3070. However, in projects with DirectX 12 support and ray tracing, the NVIDIA graphics accelerator is noticeably ahead.

The Chinese enthusiast did not say anything about the Radeon RX 6700 XT NITRO + video card itself, so at the moment it is not known how much the new product differs from the reference model in terms of GPU frequency.
