Skies Unknown Receives Paid Experimental Aircraft Series Anniversary DLC

Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in the official microblog its American division has announced a new addition to the airplane action game Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.

The expansion is called the Experimental Aircraft Series and commemorates last year’s 25th anniversary of the Ace Combat franchise.

The Experimental Aircraft Series will go on sale by the end of this spring for all target platforms of the base game. The price of the DLC has not been specified, however, the previous similar set cost from 719 to 894 rubles.

As it became known, the Experimental Aircraft Series contains three new aircraft – the F-15 S / MTD, F-16XL and FB-22 Strike Raptor – as well as ten skins and additional emblems.

It is worth noting that the skins mentioned are intended not only for the air vehicles already available in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, but also for paid ones: three listed from the Experimental Aircraft Series and one more from the Original Aircraft Series (in the screenshot below).

Recall that the Ace Combat franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary back in June 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow the developers to carry out the planned events, and therefore the celebration lasted until 2021.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was released on January 18, 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and two weeks later reached PC (Steam). Since its release, the game has sold more than 2.5 million copies.
