Italian studio 34BigThings, as part of the new trailer for its arcade space shooter Redout: Space Assault, has announced a release date for the game on PC, legacy consoles and Nintendo Switch.
As it became known from the video lasting a minute, Redout: Space Assault will go on sale for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on January 22, 2021.
Despite the relative proximity of the release, it is not yet possible to pre-order Redout: Space Assault on any of the listed platforms. Nevertheless, the project already has a page on Steam.
The events of Redout: Space Assault unfold in 2395 – the height of the era of the colonization of Mars. Players take on the role of Poseidon’s security force ace. The hero’s task is to maintain law and order in space.
The developers promise “Dynamic, epic and exciting” battles, the ability to chase “At breakneck speeds”, including career mode for 43 tasks.
Until recently, Redout: Space Assault was considered an Apple Arcade exclusive: space shooter 34BigThings appeared on Apple’s subscription service back on October 6, 2019.
As for 34BigThings itself, literally in November, the studio (along with a dozen other companies) was acquired by the Swedish holding Embracer Group, which owns THQ Nordic.
