Mossmouth founder Derek Yu on my microblog announced the launch date of his action platformer Spelunky 2 on PC – the game will go on sale on September 29 this year.
Despite the proximity of the release, it is not possible to pre-order Spelunky 2. On the page on Steam, where the game will appear on the specified date, only the option to add a product to your wishlist is available.
Yu previously warned that the PC version of Spelunky 2 will be released on “few weeks” later console, but in reality the delay will be only 14 days. We will remind, the premiere on the PlayStation 4 is expected on September 15.
According to the game designer, the additional time to create the PC edition of Spelunky 2 will allow developers to properly polish the online multiplayer action platformer.
Spelunky 2 developers promise to implement in the game “A huge and interconnected world”, suggest to users “Richer and more varied” adventure and also add “New collaborative and competitive” modes.
At this stage, Spelunky 2 is confirmed only for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, but in the future it may appear on other systems as well – Yu assures that the developers “Want to give the opportunity to get acquainted with the game as many people as possible”…
The original Spelunky was released in December 2008 and is distributed free of charge. In 2012, the already paid improved edition of the project became available on the Xbox 360, and subsequently made it to PC, PS3, PS Vita and PS4.
