2021 is already very close, and in an interview with Famitsu magazine, Japanese developers revealed their plans for the next year. In particular, Square Enix staff spoke about Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XVI, the NieR series, Dragon Quest, and other upcoming games.
Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida expects 2021 to be the busiest year of his career, with several announcements for both games. Square Enix will host a massive Final Fantasy XIV event in February, which is expected to feature a new expansion for the game and / or the Xbox version of the project.
Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase said there won’t be any news of the second episode anytime soon. He did not give specific hints on when to expect the details of the project, but said that he will be working on the series after 2021.

Finally, Dragon Quest series producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto said that he would like to make some kind of announcement in connection with the 35th anniversary of the franchise in 2021, and SaGa series director Akitoshi Kawazu has confirmed the development of a secret game.
