Tele2 built 12 data centers in a year

In 2020, Tele2 completed the construction of strategically important facilities in six regions of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg. AT 12
new data centers accommodate equipment for all operator information systems, including billing, VAS and other platforms. The centers occupy an area with a total area of more than 10 thousand square meters. m. Machine rooms
are designed for 2,286 rack spaces and use equipment with a capacity of 1.5 to 4.9 MW in each of the centers.

Tele2 data centers have: automatic control of computer complexes, systems for maintaining the required level of temperature and humidity, remote control, fire protection, monitoring
and video surveillance. Back-up power supply is provided by battery rooms and autonomous generators, which are automatically started within two minutes after the power is turned off.
Tele2 cloud computing centers, in comparison with the current voice switching infrastructure, provide increased reliability due to the duplication of absolutely all systems at different sites.

Virtualization and the transition to a cloud infrastructure provide a wider functionality than current switching devices. In addition to improving reliability, translation of processes
network management in the cloud allows to offer the operator’s customers a number of fundamentally new services, for example, VoLTE. Data center functionality can be constantly updated without changes in the site architecture and
significant costs. This will speed up the launch of products and services.

The total investment in the construction of facilities exceeded 3.5 billion rubles.
