The British Association for Interactive Entertainment (Ukie) published information on the sales of retail editions of games in the UK on its website from 13 to 19 September.
The leader of the past reporting period is predictably the collection of Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch. The collection of 3D Super Mario has overtaken the triumphant of the past two weeks in the person of Marvel’s Avengers.
The shock start of Super Mario 3D All-Stars was not a surprise: the set was popular even before its release and made its way to the second place of the American Amazon video game bestsellers for 2020.
Games Industry added that the UK launch of Super Mario 3D All-Stars was the third most successful in the region in 2020, behind The Last of Us: Part II and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Two more newcomers made their way to the top ten at the end of the week – arcade wrestling WWE 2K Battlegrounds (6th place) and the football simulator eFootball PES 2021 Season Update (9th place).
Before the end of the current reporting period, the release of a full-fledged remake of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven is also expected in the UK and the world, which will surely shake up the rating.
