Lucid Motors has announced plans to host an online presentation on September 9 of the production version of the Lucid Air premium electric sedan.
A California startup will showcase the final exterior and interior design of the Air at the event, as well as provide new details about the car’s technical specifications, configurations and prices.
However, customers who were the first to order a new product are unlikely to soon be behind the wheel of the long-awaited electric car, as its deliveries will begin next year.
Air was due to be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), which was due to take place in April. But, like most other car dealerships and major events, NYIAS was decided to postpone due to a pandemic. Last month, event organizers announced the complete cancellation of this year’s NYIAS.
Currently, Lucid Motors is gradually returning to work its staff of more than 1,000 people. None of the employees were fired due to the crisis due to the pandemic. Moreover, the company’s staff has grown by 160 people over the past three months. By the end of the year, Lucid Motors plans to recruit more than 700 people.
In parallel with the development of Lucid Air, the company is expanding its production infrastructure. This year, she plans to complete the first phase of the construction of her plant in Casa Grande (Arizona), the only US specialized electric car factory.
