The President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on holding the “Year of Science and Technology”

Today, a decree of the President of the Russian Federation on holding the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation in 2021 appeared on the official Internet portal of legal information. In this regard, the president will also form an appropriate committee. The purpose of this decree is the development of science and technology in Russia.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Presidential Aide Andrey Fursenko entered the committee for the Year of Science and Technology. Also, the government of the Russian Federation was entrusted with the development and approval of a plan of main measures for the Year of Science and Technology. And the executive authorities in the regions of the country were recommended to carry out the necessary measures.

It is worth noting that the head of state decided to propose making 2021 the Year of Science and Technology in Russia just yesterday – December 24, during a meeting of the Moscow State University Board of Trustees. “Today, at the site of the Board of Trustees of Moscow State University, a world-class university of which we are all proud, I would like to propose to declare the coming 2021 the Year of Science and Technology in Russia,” – said Vladimir Putin during the meeting.

There is no specific information on how the development of these areas will be ensured. President Putin has shown interest in high technology quite often during his speeches. For example, on December 4, at the international online conference Artifacial Intelligence Jorney, he stated that the development of artificial intelligence is the basis for “a leap forward for all mankind in its development.” And in October, he approved an artificial intelligence development program.
