At the end of 2018, as noted, the Russian orbital constellation totaled 156 satellites. A year later, this figure rose to 163 devices. And now it has become known that 169 Russian satellites are operating in orbit. In the coming years, the development of the domestic orbital group will continue. In particular, the number of Earth remote sensing satellites (ERS) will increase by more than one and a half times: the number of such devices will increase from 12 to 20.
In addition, it is planned to update the grouping of the GLONASS positioning system. The implementation of the large-scale Sphere project to form a global communications system, which will include more than 600 satellites, is also being prepared.
