The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) presented fresh statistics on the global semiconductor market, as well as published a preliminary estimate of the industry’s size for the outgoing year as a whole.
It is reported that in October 2020, semiconductor products in the amount of $ 39.0 billion were sold globally, which is 6.0% more than in October last year, when the market volume was $ 36.8 billion. Compared to September this year ($ 37.9 billion), the growth was at 3.1%.
It is noted that the market has shown the most significant growth since March. Thus, the industry continues to grow despite the pandemic and difficult economic conditions in many regions.
The Semiconductor Industry Association believes that the dynamics at the end of 2020 will also generally be positive: the market, according to analysts, will demonstrate 5.1 percent growth. As a result, the total revenue of suppliers will reach $ 433.1 billion against $ 412.3 billion in 2020.
Next year, the market volume will increase by another 8.4%. If this forecast comes true, shipments of semiconductor products will amount to $ 469.5 billion in monetary terms.
