Venture Beat reported that tinyBuild Games has hired Dynamic Pixels (Hello Neighbor series) staff to open a new studio, Eerie Guest Studios in the Netherlands.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed, but it is reported that it is included in the $ 15 million that the publisher is going to invest in the development of the stealth horror franchise about a sinister neighbor.
“We are working on additional acquisitions to strengthen the brand and serious investments in related areas. We recently announced the Hello Neighbor board game, a graphic novel coming out in October, and the Hello Neighbor Animated Series pilot hit 12 million views on YouTube. “– said Alex Nichiporchik, co-founder and CEO of tinyBuild Games.
According to Nichiporchik, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company drew attention to the growing popularity of free and subscription content: gamers want to stay in the game without spending a lot of money.
This trend pushed tinyBuild Games to invest in Hello Neighbor and to acquire the Dynamic Pixels team: “We feel that big changes are coming, so we decided to switch our investments to in-house franchises.”…
TinyBuild Games also confirmed that the Hello Neighbor franchise has attracted more than 40 million users since its inception. Back in March, this figure was as much as 10 million more modest.
So far, the Hello Neighbor franchise has three games: the original Hello Neighbor (December 2017), the Hello Neighbor: Hide & Seek prequel (December 2018), and the network spinoff Secret Neighbor (October 2019).
