UMIDIGI A9 is the world’s first Android 11 phone with an infrared thermometer

The recently unveiled UMIDIGI A9 is a cheaper version of the same brand’s entry-level A9 Pro smartphone. The A9 series are the world’s first smartphones based on Android 11 with an infrared temperature sensor, a 6.53 “large screen, a MediaTek Helio G25 processor and a 5150 mAh battery. Global pre-sale will begin January 1, 2021 at a price of $ 99.99 dollars.

Without a doubt, pure Android 11 is one of the important features of the new smartphone. There are very few entry-level devices running Android 11 right now. But much more interesting in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic is the infrared temperature measurement, the same as in the high-end Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Design smartphone. The manufacturer focuses on this in the presented advertising video:

The UMIDIGI A9 has a 6.53-inch HD + waterdrop notch display. The screen has a resolution of 720 × 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. It is an inexpensive device with a triple rear camera: a main 13MP module, an 8MP ultra wide-angle and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is also represented by an 8 megapixel sensor.

The phone is equipped with a 12nm MediaTek Helio G25 processor with a clock speed of up to 2 GHz. The device includes 3 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of internal flash memory. The phone is powered by a 5150mAh battery that can be charged via the USB-C port, and a 10W charger is included in the box. It also has a hardware shortcut key and a triple SIM and memory card slot.
