The Ruselectronics holding, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, announced its intention to organize the serial production of domestic uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for computer and household appliances.
The project is being implemented jointly with the Industrial Development Fund (IDF), which will provide a concessional loan in the amount of 80 million rubles. The UPS will be produced at the facilities of the Novgorod Special Design and Technological Bureau for Relay Technology (part of Ruselectronics).
Devices with double conversion of energy (on-line UPS) will be able to support the operation of personal computers, file servers, medical equipment, various systems for “smart” homes and household appliances in the event of a short-term power outage.
The UPSs will keep connected equipment running at maximum load for at least five minutes. This time will be enough to save important information and safely shutdown equipment. Moreover, if necessary, the continuous operation time can be increased by external connection of additional storage batteries.
“Today, the Russian market mainly uses foreign-made uninterruptible power supplies. Thanks to the support of the Industrial Development Fund, we organize the production of domestic devices with a capacity of 50 thousand pieces per year“, – said in the message of” Ruselectronics “.
