It looks like the problem is really massive. But, judging by the reports, it is found only in certain games (although some users report that all games crash), and also under certain circumstances – when the graphics processor of the video card overcomes the frequency of 2000 MHz. After that, the game crashes to the desktop without displaying any errors.

The German resource ComputerBase reported that it is in direct contact with NVIDIA partners, but so far it cannot report anything on this matter. The site independently checked three versions of GeForce RTX 3080 from various manufacturers, but could not achieve the manifestation of incorrect operation of graphics accelerators.
At the moment, it is not clear what exactly is causing the crash problem in games. It is not known whether it is a consequence of any hardware or software flaws in the graphics accelerator, or whether it is too aggressive factory overclocking.
At the time of this writing, there is no official solution to the problem of crashes in games using GeForce RTX 3080 video cards. However, some power users advise lowering the peak GPU frequency by 50-100 MHz so that it does not exceed 2000 MHz under load. Also, in some cases, lowering the voltage applied to the GPU helps.
