Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has quietly released the Y31s smartphone, the first device to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor. This chip is designed for affordable 5G phones.
Vivo Y31s looks like other smartphones of the company. The main difference is the use of a new hardware platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 480… This chipset became the company’s first 5G chip to belong to the 4xx series. It is made according to the norms of the 8nm process technology and contains the Snapdragon X51 5G modem. Eight Kryo 460 cores operating at up to 2 GHz are responsible for calculations, and GPU Adreno 619 for graphics processing. The chipset also includes an advanced Hexagon 686 signal processor.
The Vivo Y31s has a Snapdragon 480 processor paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The built-in storage capacity is 128 GB. The drive is made using UFS 2.1 technology, which is quite good for an affordable smartphone. The main camera is quite modest and is represented by two sensors with a resolution of 13 and 2 megapixels, complemented by an LED flash. The Full HD + LCD has a 6.58-inch diagonal and boasts a 90Hz refresh rate. It occupies 90.61% of the smartphone’s front panel surface. The waterdrop notch houses an 8MP front camera.
Vivo Y31s is distinguished by a rather powerful battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Supports fast 18-watt charging. The smartphone runs Funtouch OS based on Android 11. The device is already available for pre-order. It will go on free sale on January 15 at a price of about $ 260.
