Huawei has announced the appointment of Vladimir Rubanov to the post of Chief Technical Officer for Software Development and Director of Huawei R&D Operating Systems Laboratory in Russia.
As part of his position, Vladimir will coordinate software development at Russian Huawei Research Centers, develop joint developments with Russian
universities, research teams and industry partners. An important area of his work will be international open source projects.
After graduating with honors from the Department of System Programming at MIPT 2000, Vladimir Rubanov began his professional career at the Institute of System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISP RAS)
from the developer to the manager of the operating systems sector, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, received the rank of associate professor in the IT specialty. was responsible for
international collaboration and commercial projects with companies such as Google, IBM, Intel, Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NEC, Nokia, Raiffeisen Bank, VIA Technologies and others. Was one of the
initiators of creation and the first director of the international Linux OS Verification Center. In 2011, he headed R&D at ROSA’s Russian Operating Systems, where he continued to embrace
General Designer (CTO), CEO and Group President. In 2015, he became Vice President of Virtuozzo (Parallels Group), where he was responsible for development
system software products – server virtualization and distributed data storage for IT infrastructures, cloud services and big data processing systems. In 2016, the Russian business was
allocated to a separate company “Rosplatform”, which Vladimir headed. Ensured the development of a new brand from scratch, the creation of new products adapted to the Russian market and their successful
implementation in more than 30 projects, including major federal systems. In 2019, the company launched a record business record.
