Wireless connection to Android Auto is now available to users in Russia

According to online sources, Google has expanded its support for the wireless sync function of custom smartphones with Android Auto. According to the updated support documentation, Russian users can now connect wirelessly to the Google car system.

Recall that the ability to wirelessly sync smartphones with Android Auto was added by the developers about two years ago. However, this feature has long been exclusive to Google Pixel smartphones and some Samsung Galaxy models. In addition, the official documentation said that the wireless connection to Android Auto is not supported in Russia and Japan.

Google announced last month that wireless support will be available to all users with smartphones based on Android 11, and more recently, the documentation has been updated, which no longer mentions that this feature is not supported in Russia. If the changes in the document were not made by mistake, then soon Russian users will be able to synchronize their smartphones with Android Auto wirelessly, refusing to use a USB cable.

As in other countries of the world, in Russia the function is relevant for a limited number of smartphones. We are talking about devices Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy, which run Android 10, as well as Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 + and Galaxy Note 8 based on Android Pie (9.0). In the future, these will include smartphones running the Android 11 operating system, which is due to launch this month.
