Xbox Live Gold subscription has risen in price, but not in Russia yet

Microsoft has announced a price increase for its Xbox Live Gold service. So far, this applies only to the United States of America and several other regions, but, perhaps, the wave will reach Russia.

According to the statement, Microsoft periodically reviews the cost of its services to reflect changes in different regions and to continue to invest in the Xbox community. In some markets, the price of Xbox Live Gold hasn’t changed for over a decade, so it’s time to adjust.

Now the subscription price will be as follows (for active subscribers, the price will take effect at least 45 days after receiving the corresponding notification):

  • 1 month – $ 10.99;
  • 3 months – $ 29.99;
  • 6 months – $ 59.99.

At the same time, VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb correctly noted that the Xbox brand is not always “with the people”. As an example, he cited Fortnite, which is distributed as a shareware model on PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, while playing on Xbox consoles requires an Xbox Live Gold fee of $ 120 per year.

Plus, the cost of an annual Xbox Live Gold subscription is now double the price of PlayStation Plus.
