According to a reputable Chinese blog Digital chat stationreferenced by the resource Notebook check, Xiaomi is developing five new flagship smartphones with support for 5G wireless networks at once. New items may be presented in the coming months.
As the source indicates, the models are codenamed J20, J21, J1, J1S and J1T. According to the resource, models with the suffixes “T” and “S” most likely represent variants of the same device. Wherein Digital chat station adds that these smartphones can be built on the basis of the flagship mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The chip uses eight Kryo 585 cores with a clock frequency of up to 2.84 GHz and an Adreno 650 graphics accelerator.
Interestingly, the source also claims the use of the still unannounced Snapdragon 865+ chipset in one of the models. Qualcomm previously said that this year it is not going to announce an updated mobile SoC, so it’s hard to say what information is based on Digital chat station. But if it is correct, then the announcement of this smartphone will have to wait until next year.
It is also indicated that the device, codenamed J1S, is already in production. It is likely that his announcement is expected in the coming weeks. Perhaps this will be a device with a retractable selfie camera, which we reported earlier.
