Images of non-standard versions of GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards from Zotac were published on the Web. Interestingly, they were published by the manufacturer by mistake, but they were quickly discovered by an already well-known Internet detective Momomo_US, as well as several other users.
Thanks to this, it became known that Zotac is preparing at least eight GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards:
- GeForce RTX 3090 AMP Extreme;
- GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity HoLo;
- GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity;
- GeForce RTX 3080 AMP Extreme;
- GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity HoLo;
- GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity;
- GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge HoLo;
- GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge.
In the case of the Trinity and AMP Extreme models, we are talking about the use of massive CO with two large aluminum radiators with seven copper heat-conducting pipes in direct contact with the GPU, as well as three fans.
Twin Edge series graphics cards will be more compact as they will use dual-fan CO. And it looks like they will be asynchronous. At least in some cases. We’ve seen such solutions from Zotac before.
One fan will rotate for blowing, providing cooling efficiency 12% higher than previous solutions, and the other – for blowing, making it 68% more efficient. According to the source, the Zotac Twin Edge series will be represented only by the GeForce RTX 3070 model. Apparently, such a cooling system cannot provide adequate heat dissipation for more powerful Ampere series video cards.
The leak allows for the first time to see what the non-reference RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 boards of the Zotac Trinity Holo version look like. It looks like the Hong Kong-based manufacturer used a 19 + 1 power subsystem, which confirms early rumors of 20-phase VRM in older cards.
Also, the Zotac GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity Holo will be equipped with three 8-pin, and the RTX 3080 – two 8-pin power connectors, which is also confirmed by earlier reports. Recall that the reference models will receive one 12-pin connector. Zotac cards are equipped with four video outputs. The published images show the presence of three DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1.
Earlier it became known that the flagship model GeForce RTX 3090 of the Ampere generation will be built on the basis of the GA102-300-A1 graphics processor, which will use 5248 CUDA cores or 82 SM-blocks. This is about 20% more than the current flagship GeForce RTX 2080 Ti based on the Turing architecture. Unfortunately, at the moment, information about the operating frequencies of the video card, the number of TMUs and ROPs of the new flagship remains unknown. According to early rumors, GPU frequency RTX 3090 in resource-intensive applications, it will rise to 1695 MHz.
The card will receive 24 GB of GDDR6X memory with a speed of 19.5 Gb / s and a 384-bit bus. Thus, its throughput will almost reach 1 TB / s. The declared TGP level (Total Graphics Power) for the flagship is 350 W, and the expected cost is $ 1400.
Also on the Web was an image of the frequency characteristics of the Zotac GeForce RTX 3080 model (series not specified) displayed by the Zotac Firestorm software for fine-tuning graphics cards.
The announcement of NVIDIA GeForce 30-series video cards based on the new Ampere microarchitecture is scheduled for September 1.
